Youth Director (Full-Time)

Faith Lutheran Church – Seguin, Texas

Faith Lutheran Church seeks a full-time Youth Director to lead and develop a vibrant ministry with middle school and high school youth.

The heart of this role is relational ministry—building trust with youth and families and helping middle school and high school students grow in faith through conversation, mentorship, and shared experiences.

The Youth Director provides spiritual leadership, plans and oversees youth programming, supports youth and families, and collaborates closely with pastoral staff, volunteers, and church leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

The heart of this role is relational ministry—building trust with youth and families and helping students grow in faith through conversation, mentorship, and shared experiences.

• Lead and coordinate regular youth ministry gatherings and activities
• Build intentional relationships with youth and their families
• Recruit, train, and support adult and student volunteers
• Collaborate with pastors and staff on faith formation and confirmation ministry
• Plan retreats, service opportunities, and special events
• Maintain appropriate communication with families and the congregation

Position Scope

• Full-time position with salary comparable to teacher at Seguin ISD. 
• Evening and weekend work expected as part of middle school and high school student ministry
• Performance evaluated on leadership, relational engagement, and ministry outcomes rather than hourly output

Qualifications

• Strong Christian faith and commitment to youth ministry
• Experience working with youth in a church or related setting
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Organizational and communication skills

Faith Lutheran Church values youth ministry as an essential part of its mission and is intentionally investing in this role as a full-time ministry position.  Salary will be comparable to a teacher in area, and this position will have some flexibility outside of Sunday morning in the execution of duties.
