Announcements From Faith – April 3

Dear Faith Family,
  • Join us LIVE on Facebook Sunday morning for our live streamed PALM SUNDAY Service. Tune in at 9:00 to join us in worship! We will be celebrating “virtual communion”, so have your bread and wine/juice ready as you watch. ANYONE can access our page. You do not need a Facebook account to watch! You will find a PDF of Sunday’s bulletin at the bottom of this email (Click link below) so that you may follow along with the service. The bulletin also contains other important announcements, including information on Easter Lilies. Facebook address: https://www.facebook.com/FaithLutheranChurchSeguinTx/ (Video will be available on our website beginning Monday)
  • HOLY WEEK schedule – the office will continued to be staffed from 8:00-12:00. There will be no committee meetings held Tuesday evening. Stay home and stay well. Pastor will be sharing a Good Friday Video Message via Facebook on Friday and our EASTER Sunday service will be LIVE on Sunday morning on Facebook as well.
  • We have decided that we will observe Good Friday and we will celebrate Easter, the Feast of Christ’s Resurrection as a body of believers, here at Faith whenever we are able to come back together as a worshiping congregation. The resurrection of our Lord is the pivotal event in all of human history – it cannot be ignored. Andrew, Lisa and their team will also host a community Easter Egg hunt on the Saturday before our Easter celebration. Please watch for further details about this from the Church Office.
  • Offerings to the Lord. We humbly ask that you remember the need for continued financial support of Faith Lutheran Church with your Tithes and Offerings. While we are reducing our expenses as much as possible, we do need your continued support. Our Church Council did pass a motion to pay all hourly, non-essential workers their normal wages so that they may take care of their families. This decision includes the workers of our Faith Preschool team. You may use myeoffering APP on our website https://faithseguin.org/online-giving/, mail or drop off at the Church Office. We appreciate your faithfulness to the Lord and to your church!
  • You can reach Pastor Jim on his cell at 512-970-1226 or Andrew at 248-687-0485.
Joshua 1:9 New Living Translation (NLT)
9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
The Quilting Ladies of Faith – and anyone who would like to assist – are now sewing cloth face masks that will be distributed to GMRC employees, area nursing homes and Seguin Assisted Living for staff and residents to use. This act of love in Jesus’ name will help lessen fear as well as provide a measure of protection to this vulnerable group of God’s people. Contact Margit Thurston or Pastor Jim to help in this important ministry. If you have access to 1/4 “ of 1/8 “ elastic that you are not using, let us know.

Let us also remember that we are called by God to share the love of Jesus with all people. Folks in our community are scared and frustrated due to COVID-19. This is a unique opportunity for the Church to share the hope we have in Jesus and to demonstrate the love of Jesus to Guadalupe County. Be sure to check on the welfare of neighbors, offer assistance with shopping or care. Please share with us your stories of how you did this in the name of Jesus!

From the Lord: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah 29:11-13

Our Vision: Faith: For The Future!

Our Mission: “We are imperfect people, saved by grace, willing to risk it all to share the Good News of Jesus Christ!”
