Announcements from Faith

Important Announcements from Faith

Our annual congregation meeting is RE-scheduled for this Sunday, January 31st following our worship service. As mentioned before, the agenda calls for adoption of the 2021 church budget, the election of new council members and acceptance of amendments to Faith’s constitution. In order to conduct any official business a QUORUM is necessary. Our constitution does not allow for proxy voting and a quorum is listed as 125 confirmed members. WE WERE JUST ABOUT 18 or so short of meeting that number this Sunday! THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone who came!

We are going to try to meet that quorum again this Sunday, HOWEVER we have a plan! For those of you uncomfortable coming to worship in the sanctuary, we will count you as PRESENT for the meeting if you are ANYWHERE on the property! This includes you driving up and staying in your car, hanging out on the front lawn or court yard or even the LEC. Tellers will BRING you a paper ballot anywhere on campus.

If you do remain in your car, you can tune your FM radio to 100.1 and you will be able HEAR the meeting. (This will only work if you are in the parking lot here at church. It won’t transmit the signal any further than that.)

So if you are not at worship in person, make sure you are in the parking lot by 9:45 AM to be counted.

COVID protocols will be in place for worship and they include:

  1. Temperatures taken at the door
  2. Mask are Required
  3. The offering plate will be placed in the center aisle for you to drop your offering in as you enter or as you leave.
  4. Communion will be celebrated at your seat using disposable wine/juice and wafer containers. (On 1st and 3rd Sundays)
  5. Singing of hymns will be limited to one or two verses only. Please sing or hum along while keeping your face covering in place.
  6. Our pews are marked for social distancing. Please do the best you can to not sit more than four to a pew. (YES OF COURSE families can sit together!)Our ushers will usher you out following the service and we ask that you not congregate in the Narthex, but gather for fellowship outside on our patio.

THANK YOU for understanding as we try to keep everyone safe and bring our congregation together at the same time!

Our worship service live streams will being at 9:00 AM.

As we continue to make our way through the new world of COVID-19, here’s a question: what if we all decided to be carriers of HOPE?

Special Video Message from your Faith Lutheran Staff!

Let us also remember that we are called by God to share the love of Jesus with all people. Folks in our community are scared and frustrated due to COVID-19. This is a unique opportunity for the Church to share the hope we have in Jesus and to demonstrate the love of Jesus to Guadalupe County. Be sure to check on the welfare of neighbors, offer assistance with shopping or care. Please share with us your stories of how you did this in the name of Jesus!

From the Lord: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
